Paint shop update A sneak peak of progress on 2968’s repaint to 13268 in the paint shop at Bridgnorth. Our thanks must go to Ronan, the Bridgnorth painter, and his volunteer colleagues for their excellent work so far.
The new smokebox number plate says it all!
As do a couple of loco lamps, beautifully painted and numbered 13268. One of the loco crew seats is in the foreground awaiting further coats of varnish whilst parts of the two oil cans can bee seen on the left.
The cab side arm rests and both seats.
Three of the four wooden cab side window frames looking very smart after old paint and varnish has been stripped and replaced with new varnish.
The top feed cover looks very smart.
The loco’s boiler cladding has already received two coats of paint whilst the newly rubbed down and thus white looking valancing looks to be ready for its turn from the paintbrush. The cab side nearest the camera appears to have some early rubbing down underway.
The tender sides between the rivets have also been “flatted” ready for painting once the rivetted areas have been prepared by hand.
