Overhaul update
The pipework in the cab on the Fireman's side for the Ashpan spray and Pep pipe. Above the Damper controls these work when the Fireman's side injector is in use.
These brass segments carry the packing glands for the piston rods where they emerge from the back cylinder cover. They are split across their circumference so they can be removed to cure blows without splitting the piston rod from the cross head.
