Overhaul update
The loco was still to be found in the south west corner of the shed on the 6th of the month so the two of us who were there made a couple of gaskets for the front steam heating pipe which still needed to be fitted. Once that job was finished we had a look at the cab roof which we had been told was going to be trial fitted that afternoon.
A bit of rapid painting before the cab roof was moved to the front of the shed for trial fitting and while it was easy to get at.

With the cab roof safely and temporarily bolted in place the chassis is positioned over the wheel drop so that the pony truck can be lowered to give access for re-fitting the front steam heat pipe.
Meanwhile in the boiler shop we found that the foundation ring had been largely riveted in place in the back.
Also the foundation ring has been mostly riveted in place at the front of the firebox.
During our visit on the 13th May we found the new roof stays had been peened over inside the firebox (second vertical row of rivets/stays from the right).
