Overhaul update
The newly painted right hand rear sandbox has been fitted back onto the frames and we will be repeating the process with the left hand one soon.
The right hand rear sandbox back in place after cleaning and painting. The bolt heads and nuts will also be painted black over the next week or so.
On the boiler, The front tube plate showing where staff have burned out the rivets securing the front tube plate which is due for replacement. A similar job has been carried out on the sides for the firebox where the steel doorplate is to be removed ready for replacement as well.
The left hand side of the firebox showing where the securing rivets for the steel doorplate have also been burnt out.
This shows the same for the right hand side but probably a better shot than the previous one for illustrative purposes.
