Overhaul update
Two of the pipes shown painted last time are now positioned below the left hand running plate: vacuum and boiler feed pipes.
Both side fall plates are now complete and sitting in position, although the mounting bolts have yet to be replaced.
Work has begun on mounting the cab running steps; these are the dimensions chalked and drawn on tape on the driver’s side of the trailing buffer beam.
On the fireman’s side things are a little more progressed, with the steps in place.
They cannot yet be permanently attached as they will need to be removed to make way for the jacking beam when the loco is being re-wheeled.
