Work is progressing nicely with the Valve chest liners and the Boiler. We would like to give special thanks to three volunteers in the loco shed for the work they have done on 13268. They come in on a Tuesday and have helped by drilling and burning out the rivets on the rear buffer beam of the locomotives drag box. Without their help we would still be working on removing it. Their names are: Iwan Astley, Mark Rigby and Ivor Smith (we hope we have spelled them correctly).

The boiler upside down and being moved over to a new spot in the boiler shop.
The boiler being lowered into its new resting place.
Landed! The movement was carried out mainly to enable the staff to gain access to the firebox foundation ring in order to remove it, and then to further dismantle the boiler to assess exactly what work will be needed.
