Overhaul update
The SMF's Robin Spain watching over the radial drill while it drills one of the 2 1/4” holes (for one of the supplementary draw pins) in part of the new drag box.

This is the same plate temporarily bolted in place ready for drilling through into the four girders beneath.
The main part of the new vertical cross member, with the firebox support bracket clamped in place, which will replace that seen in earlier pictures of the drag box, on the radial drill prior to setting up and drilling yet more holes.
The new rear plates for the main frames.
The new buffer beam and the sub-floor support brackets before the necessary drilling.
The left hand sub-floor is removed.
The corrosion and wastage on the outside of the left hand main frame where the sub-floor was.
